A Sun-Shiny Day

Today was wonderful!  The sun was shining, it wasn't too hot, and Bella had big plans for us!  She climbed into bed with me this morning telling me it would be a good day for a hike.  I couldn't argue, it was gorgeous out and well the reality is she can be pretty convincing with those big blue eyes.  I had some projects to work on at the studio so I told her if we could get my work done then we would go for a hike.
We decided if we were going to hike that a picnic would be good too!  She immediately headed to the kitchen to make our lunch. (peanut butter sandwiches with a side of pretzels).

On our way to the trail we found this guy crossing the road.  Of course we stopped to rescue him and Bella named him Tootles.

Best peanut butter sandwich EVER!

I absolutely LOVE these pictures of her!  She was adamant about leading the hike and I love how she takes in all of her surroundings.

She insisted on taking my picture.....she even posed me by the tree. (future photographer perhaps?)

When we got home she wanted to get in the pool but after about 5 minutes she admitted that it was cold and decided to join me in the sunshine.  It was wonderful and she clearly thought she was big stuff!  She put her arm around me and told me I was the best mom EVER and that I was her best friend......
Thats a good day folks!

Summer Sangria's.....Pinterest Style

Hello Friends!  I hope your weekend was as sunny and warm as ours!
I found a recipe for a delicious summer sangria on Pinterest that I thought I would share!

Find the recipe HERE.  I made a few changes:  I skipped the serrano peppers and added blackberries instead of raspberries, and just used a semi sweet white wine.  They were DELICIOUS!

On a serious note I have found Memorial Day to have such a different meaning to me than it used to.  When I was younger it was a "free" day for me you know another day off of work.  Having a brother and best friend that have served our country the day really takes on a whole new meaning for me.  I am so very proud of the men and women that serve and sacrifice for our freedom.  My heart goes out to the families that have lost loved ones fighting the brave fight for our freedom.  Thank you Zach S., Jolene, Brian, Shawn, Chad, Zach M. You all are my HEROES!

Rockin' It 3rd Sunday Market Style

This weekend was a BLAST!  Lauren and I as well as our good friends from Ethel Edith loaded up and hauled our wares to Bloomington to set up at 3rd Sunday Market.

In case you haven't heard of said market it is a once a month show of roughly 300 vendors set up with antiques, junk, and other fabulous treasures! (in other words Heaven for us girls)

This is my sweet friend Abbie.....she has an extra passenger in tow (little Clifford will be here in August)
The weather was hot and sunny, the perfect day for sellin' our goods!  It was also a bit breezy and this combined with the sweaty skin and dust=some seriously dirty gals.
We really had a great time.  When we weren't sellin' or shoppin' we were most definitely people watchin'!  These sorts of events bring out some major fashion no no's.  Read Janie's blog here to get the scoop!

I must say that I am always overwhelmed by all of the junk-tastic treasures we usually find here.  All of us gals came home with something new as well as lots of good memories and a good layer of dirt!

A Little of this and A little of That

So this post is a bit random but here are a few pics from the past week!

Here is my sweet girl rocking some foam roller curls......this girl is the BEST!

This girl is the best too!  I freakin love her and we have the best time together!  Not only is she a great person but she is just sweet as can be!

Wednesday I decided it was time for some new ink!  I have been wanting a new tattoo for awhile now and decided on this!  It is exactly what I wanted!

I hope your week was filled with adventures and beauty!

Growing

I have to admit that when I turned 29 I was a teensy bit freaked out.....(I hate admitting that....really).  I still don't like that 30 is right around the corner and have been thinking about it a lot recently.  I have came to these conclusions:

I love that I am finally my OWN person.  I understand me.  I know who I am. and I know what my dreams are.

I am hopeful that I have a long life ahead of me and I want to live my days with no regrets.

I want to explore more, slow down my busy pace, and enjoy each and every day!

I know that while I am still just 29 I feel far wiser than I did at 20......that means that only more knowledge and growth is to come.

When you age you find appreciation for all of the things you took for granted when you were younger.

When you are younger you can't wait to get older and when you get older you want to relive your younger years......I however do NOT.......these days right now are the best years so far in my life!

I have realized in the last year just how short our lives really are.  I have spent my days working non-stop but have recently been trying to make that conscious effort to slow down, feel the grass between my toes,  soak up the sunshine, ride my bike, and enjoy my family.

I plan on fully embracing 30 when the day comes.....I will be wiser, stronger, and more full of life......

BRING IT ON!
I AM READY!

I hope your weekend brings new adventures, sunny days, and wonderful memories!
