Shop Switcharoo

I have spent most of the summer away from my studio spending time with my favorite little lady and re-charging my creative batteries.  Now that my little is back in school it was time to get BUSY.  Wednesday was a whirlwind.  My mom came in and helped me to re-arrange furniture and give my shop space an update.  I needed a fresh look going into the busy season and mom can whip a room into shape in no time flat while I stand there wondering what the heck just happened.  In a couple of hours this is what we came up with for the "shop" space.  I am happy with my work space so for now it stays the same.  I think it turned out FAB!  I just need to fill it with lots more goodies!

Boom!  You better come check it out in person!

Hope you are all having a fantastic week!

A Creative Morning

Today I had the pleasure of hosting a children's art workshop at the studio.  I must admit that I was a bit nervous because I haven't worked with a big group of children in quite awhile.  Three other artists and myself taught classes in photography, acrylic and watercolor painting, metal stamping, and sewing.  IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!

My group first drew monsters on paper, colored and cut them out, and then traced their picture to fabric of their choosing.  I sewed up their design, they stuffed them and then picked out materials for the faces of their newly made monsters.

The best part of my day......my help for the day was my sweet grandma who is here visiting from Missouri.  It was pretty special for me to be doing a sewing project with young children with the very person who instilled the love of sewing in me.  Perfection.

I may be biased but these monsters really turned out fabulous!

 See I told you......FABULOUS!

Painting with Jan

Metal stamping with Sheri

Our high school photography students working with Chelsea

Here is just some of the wonderful works from the day!  These kids were AMAZING!

It really was a great day.  My heart was full of joy sharing my love of creating with the local children.  I can't wait for our next workshop!

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

Finding Inspiration

What inspires you?  What do you find inspirational?
For me it's ......

Spending time with my favorite little lady

Having girls night out with old friends.....(watching ridiculous movies and talking about life)

Nature

Reading a great book given to you by a great friend

Creating something new

Sometimes I feel that it is easier to see the inspiration and beauty in life when things are going our way.  I challenge you to seek beauty and inspiration in the ordinary, give thanks daily, and inspire others with your happiness.
Be the change.

Have an inspirational weekend friends.

A Journey

As many of you know I have been on a personal fitness journey since March of this year.  After Bella was born I got really into cycling and after about a year of serious riding I began to have terrible hip and pelvic pain.  I visited with many doctors and spent countless dollars trying to "fix" the problem with no luck.  In the meantime I completely let myself go.  Fortunately I found help for my pain through chiropractic care and am able to keep my body in balance and for the most part pain free.

Around the first of the year one of my friends who is a beachbody coach started inviting me to participate in one of her fitness challenge groups.  I was incredibly skeptical and kept making excuses why I couldn't participate.  In March, I broke down and joined a 30 day clean eating challenge group that she was hosting. I was still skeptical but didn't have anything to loose.  It was a small facebook group of about 8 women that supported and encouraged each other on our journey.  After 30 days of clean eating combined with Turbo Fire, Shakeology and cycling I was down 7lbs and many inches.  I can't even begin to explain how much better I felt.  I decided to keep up with the clean eating, Shakeology and fitness program and am currently down 16lbs and over 17 inches overall.  I feel healthier and stronger than I have in years.  I couldn't have done it without my coach and accountability group.

A few posts ago I was talking about how I am "that" girl.  Someone that likes to help others in this journey we call life.  I don't like to see people struggling, or hurting especially if there is something that I can do to help out.  Becoming an independent coach for Beachbody was something that I have been thinking about for awhile but I just didn't feel that I was "qualified" to "teach" anyone else how to live a healthy lifestyle.  It really wasn't until after I was reflecting on that last post that I realized it isn't about telling someone how to do it, it is about being encouraging, motivating, and supporting individuals on their journey to taking control of their health.  I already enjoy helping and supporting others and I am a HUGE believer in the Beachbody programs and accountability groups.  I am a huge believer in having support systems.  Your families, friends, coworkers, are all different forms of support in your day to day lives, so it makes sense to have a group of people that encourage, motivate, and keep you accountable on your personal fitness journey.  I am so so excited to be helping others achieve their goals!

Please let me know if you are looking for team support, personal guidance, and group motivation to help you achieve your goals.  My team and I would love to hear your story, personal goals, and struggles so we can work together to assist you in your journey towards a healthier life!

Decide~Commit~Succeed!
